This is an opportunity for someone with administrative and organisational skills to be part of Greenside Parish Church as it continues to develop a pioneering role within Edinburgh.  This role has a considerable interface with a wide range of customers and colleagues.


Greenside Parish Church is situated on the east side of the city centre.  The Church is built on what has been a religious site for many centuries and which has served the communities surrounding it in different ways throughout the centuries.  Greenside Church continues to do this by weekly services, weekday youth provision and outreach work.


Our mission is to open our doors to fellow Christians representing other branches of the international church.  We are delighted to be sharing our sanctuary and halls with amongst others, the Edinburgh Filipino Congregation in Communion with the International Charismatic Episcopal Churches, The Russian Orthodox Church of Great Britain and Ireland and also the Swedish Church in London.  Annually, we hold an 'All Nations Advent Service' with a large group of international churches.

We are also leading on an innovative project to provide a Christian base for those involved in the arts and entertainment sector across the City through the appointment of an Arts and Entertainment Project Leader.  This is part of a partnership with the City Centre Churches Together Group.

The Administrator Role

This is a key role in the support, organisation and operation of this dynamic Church family.

The successful applicant will have good communication and interpersonal skills, administrative experience, including finance work, and be competent with a range of IT packages.

The administrator position will require 15 hours per week.  This is a new post and it may be as the post develops more hours may be offered.  The actual days of work can be negotiated but there will be a requirement to work mid week.  Core working hours will reflect Church office opening times once agreed.  Details of terms and conditions will be available to the successful candidate prior to appointment.  Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be required prior to appointment.

Salary will be paid monthly in arrears at a rate of £10 per hour.
